Murphy’s law is a popular adage that typically states, \”Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.\” Yes, accidents happen beyond our control. Illnesses happen, too. As they occur, there’s one place you can rely on in good times and bad— Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey. By providing quality treatments to medically complex patients, through its respiratory, medical complex, cardiothoracic surgery and complex wound care programs, we stand ready to be there for you during your road to recovery.
Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey celebrates National Hospital Week, from May 12-18, joins with hospitals across the nation to recognize their dedicated staff and the important role they play in treating patients and creating healthy communities.
According to the Chicago-based American Hospital Association, National Hospital Week, the nation’s largest health care event, is a celebration of the history, technology and dedicated professionals that make hospitals beacons of confidence and care. It dates back to 1921 when it was suggested by a magazine editor who hoped a community wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals. The celebration, launched in Chicago, has succeeded beyond expectations in promoting trust and goodwill among members of the public and eventually spread to facilities across the country.
Providing a Personal Touch
We hope you will visit our Specialty Hospital to learn more about the programs and services we offer.
The Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey is a uniquely designed to offer a full-range of acute care services to medical complex patient who require an extended stay (25 days or more). Our medical team provides high quality care and strives to achieve a maximum level of wellness while maintaining patient satisfaction.
The 50-bed specialty hospital, “a hospital-within-a-hospital” at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, Lakewood, serves Monmouth and Ocean counties in the Garden State. Our patient’s also come from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
At Specialty Hospital, a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician extenders, nurses, physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists, social workers, case managers and other health care professionals, all work together to ensure an integration of care services that are personally tailored for the unique high-acuity care needs of each of our patient.
Much of our success in improving patient outcomes is the result of a high nurse-to-patient ratio — one licensed professional to every four or five patients — and our health care providers get to know our patients and family members over their extended hospital stay.
As our brochure says, “We believe that by treating the whole person through a well-planned, aggressive and integrated program of medical and therapeutic care, our patients are given the opportunity to recover in a supportive environment that promotes consistency, coordination and compassion. Our specialized treatment programs reflect this commitment to total care.”
Celebrating National Hospital Week provides Specialty Hospital with a unique opportunity to thank all of our dedicated staff members, from physicians, nurses, therapists, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions to the high-quality care given to our patients.
